BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A woman was arrested after attempting to hit a group of people with her car near downtown Bellingham.

The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Naomi Miller, targeted a group of people fighting on Tuesday, Sept. 17, on S State St. According to police spokesperson Megan Peters, a man got into a physical fight there with two other people.

Miller was not among those fighting but knew the man who instigated the fight.

She got into her truck and attempted to hit the other fighters twice. A fourth person later got involved in the fight, and Miller tried to run them over as well. She made several verbal threats to harm the three victims whom the initial fighter targeted.

Miller was arrested on a first-degree assault charge and was released from the Whatcom County Jail on Thursday, Sept. 19.

The victims all declined to press charges against the man who instigated the fight.
