SEATTLE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham woman who dealt fentanyl to members of the Lummi Nation and others will spend four years in prison.
U.S. Attorney Tessa Gorman says 38-year-old Natasha Parkhill pled guilty in March and was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Seattle on Friday.
Parkhill was one of six people charged after a federal investigation into fentanyl dealing in Whatcom County. She was taken into custody in January 2023 after her car broke down in a chase with law enforcement.
They found about 1,000 fentanyl pills and over $1,300 in cash on her when she was arrested.
Lummi Nation Chairman Anthony Hillaire spoke at Friday’s sentencing, saying her actions will have a “long-lasting, negative impact” on the community.
Two other members of the drug ring, including a man from Bellingham, have already been sentenced.
Another Bellingham man plead guilty last month and will be sentenced at a later date.
The last alleged member of the drug ring is a Burien man who’s still being sought by law enforcement.
