WASHINGTON, D.C. (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Families of people who died in Boeing Max crashes made their case to push criminal charges against the company in Washington D.C. on Friday, May 31.
The Justic Department has not made any promises to the families about those charges, however.
Two weeks ago, the department ruled that Boeing violated a 2021 settlement when they failed to make changes to detect and prevent violations of federal anti-fraud laws.
The settlement let the company avoid prosecution for deceiving regulators who approved the Boeing 737 Max.
Prosecutors have not announced what sanctions Boeing might face for that violation.
The department has said it will decide by July 7.
