BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Blaine City Council has approved its newest member for a short-term seat.
The Northern Light reports the council voted 5-1 to approve Blaine Bouquets owner Sarbie Bains at its meeting earlier this week.
Bains will fill an interim seat on the council’s at-large position until the general election results are certified in late November.
My Bellingham Now previously reported the position’s former holder, Mike Hill, resigned from his role in June.
Hill and Bains are the only two candidates listed in the race for the position on the upcoming ballot, though Hill has already endorsed Bains.
She’ll be sworn it at the council’s next meeting on Aug. 11.
