BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The City of Blaine is searching for someone to fill a vacancy on its city council.
The city is accepting applications now through 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 4 for a resident to fill an interim seat on the council’s at-large position.
Whoever is chosen will start in September and only serve for a few months, since the position is up for reelection on the November ballot.
There’s currently only two candidates on the ballot, though one is the position’s former holder, Mike Hill, who resigned from his role earlier this month.
The winner of the election will be appointed once the results are certified in late November. The city council is expected to interview applicants for the interim seat at its next meeting on July 14.
