BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Mexican man who spent time in jail for stabbing multiple people in Everson several years ago is the latest local subject of the federal crackdown on immigration.

U.S. Border Patrol’s Blaine Sector says it helped ICE agents arrest 42-year-old Antonio Santiago-Vazquez near Lynden on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Santiago-Vazquez was arrested in May 2021 after stabbing three people during a party at the Glen Echo Community Center. Two of the victims were seriously injured and required emergency surgery.

Santiago-Vazquez eventually agreed to a plea deal and spent three months in jail for third degree assault.

Border agents say he’s now being processed for his removal to Mexico. They add that he’s already been deported several times.
