WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Whatcom County’s 911 dispatch is currently having issues with their operations. At this time, make sure to place calls to 360-676-6911 if you are experiencing an emergency.
No word yet from local authorities as to why there is an issue with contacting emergency dispatch. A social media post from the county said that many other Washington counties as well as other locations in other states are also being affected by the outage.
Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy told My Bellingham Now that if your phone has limited operations, you are allowed to make an emergency report with the local law enforcement or fire district office in person. The department will be prioritizing emergencies at this time.
Local authorities will notify the public via the Emergency Alert System when 911 operations are back up and running.
