SAN JUAN ISLAND, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The bodies of two deceased men were located off of San Juan Island.

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office announced that the bodies had been located on April 22 and 23 on the south side of San Juan Island.

Eric Peter, Sheriff for the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, said in a statement, “These have been a very sad two days, and on behalf of all of us at the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, our deepest condolences go out to the family/families of these two men.”

This announcement comes just days following the news of two Canadian citizens who went missing in the early hours of April 21 while kayaking near the island. The San Juan County Sheriff’s Department has not confirmed the identity of the bodies or any relation to the missing kayakers.
