BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Amtrak train service through Bellingham has been suspended after inspections found corrosion on some of the cars used on the route.

Amtrak Cascades passengers will instead be picked up by buses at Bellingham’s station in Fairhaven.

The corrosion found on Amtrak’s Horizon cars was found to be a safety hazard.

Bicycle reservation will still be honored, and Business Class passengers will get a refund for the difference with Coach Class, as the buses don’t have separate accommodations.
