BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Patrons of Bellingham International Airport can feel a little more confident travelling in winter weather this year.
The Port of Bellingham announced the arrival of a new liquid de-ice truck that they say will be a game-changer in keeping the airport safe.
The $646,000 vehicle, which was 90% funded by the FAA, features a 24-foot plow and carries a 2,000-gallon tank of de-icing liquid that will cover more runway surface in less time.
The Port of Bellingham says the new truck will improve experiences for airlines and passengers by minimizing disruptions caused by a cold, wet winter.
