BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Boeing is promising changes following multiple failed audits by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Boeing said Tuesday that it plans to work with employees that violated its manufacturing procedures to make sure they understand the company’s standards for quality.

It comes after the results of a weeks-long investigation by the FAA found that Boeing failed 33 of its 89 audits.

In a memo to employees, the president of Boeing’s commercial plane division said the “vast majority” of violations involved workers not following the company’s approved procedures. Boeing will also add weekly compliance checks for all work teams in the Renton factory where Max jets are assembled, according to the memo.

The FAA has barred Boeing from boosting production of Max jets and gave the company 90 days to come up with a plan to fix quality-control issues.
