BRIEF: Custer rest areas to be closed throughout the week

CUSTER, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Rest areas just outside of Bellingham along I-5 will see some closures throughout the week.

The Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) says that the northbound rest areas in Custer will be closed on Monday, Dec. 16 and Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The southbound rest area will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18 and Thursday, Dec. 19.

WSDOT has not disclosed a reason for the closures, but they are encouraging people to use the Bow Hill rest areas instead.
