BELLINGHAM, WA. – (MyBellinghamNow.com) A road closure on Northwest Avenue led to an arrest on Thursday night, January 18th.

Bellingham Police say they shut down a portion of Northwest Ave near the I-5 ramps just before 9 p.m.

Police logs say a felony assault with a weapon occurred in that area.

Officers arrested 32-year-old Matthew Coltrane in connection with the alleged assault.

Coltrane remains at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
