SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The North Cascades Highway is days away from fully reopening.
WSDOT announced that the stretch of SR 20 between Silver Star Gate and the Ross Dam Trailhead will reopen this Friday, April 19, at 10 a.m.
The annual closure began in November and spring clearing began on March 25. Facilities operated by both the US Forest Service and National Park Service will mostly remain closed along the 33-mile-long stretch.
Drivers planning to make the cross-state trek in the near future are being advised to watch for ice and snow.
In addition, a fish passage project in Concrete could also cause backups on SR 20.
