SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Some residents in Skagit County could smell some smoky air next week.

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources says that a prescribed burn that was scheduled to begin today has been postponed until next week.

Crews will now conduct the burn next Wednesday, June 2 provided that weather conditions are favorable.

The burn area is located between SR 9 south of Big Lake and Lake Cavanaugh Road near Summer Lake.

Residents near the burn area may see smoky conditions and a drop in air quality.
