BIRCH BAY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Birch Bay residents can now know what to expect in their new library as building plans have been released to the public.

The Whatcom County Library System (WCLS) and Friends of the Birch Bay Library unveiled the floor plans and other details during a community event on June 10, 2024.

Birch Bay Vogt Library Express will be built on the first floor of the historic Vogt building, which was purchased by WCLS in 2017. Floor plans of the building include a youth collection, a meeting room and an outdoor reading area.

WCLS spokesperson Mary Vermillion says that some of the details for the new library are subject to change as construction gets underway.

Construction is set to begin in 2025.
