SEATTLE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A California man accused of groping a young woman on a flight to Seattle has been convicted.

US Attorney Tessa Gorman says that a jury found 41-year-old Justin Baker guilty of abusive sexual contact.

Baker struck up a conversation with the victim, who was sitting next to him on a flight from Burbank to Seattle in March. He showed the woman sexually explicit texts on his phone before draping his jacket over her leg and groping her.

As the woman got up to alert flight attendants about Baker’s behavior, he grabbed her again without her consent.

Baker had been previously convicted on similar charges in 2004 after molesting a 15-year-old girl.

Sentencing has been set for January 21.
