WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – If you plan on running for public office, next week is the time to take action.
The Whatcom County Auditor’s Office says candidate filing week runs Monday, May 5, through May 9.
There are several local offices up for reelection, including four spots on the county council and four spots on the Bellingham City Council.
Candidates are encouraged to file their declaration of candidacy online, but can also do so in person at the Auditor’s Office.
Requirements and regulations for filing can change year to year, so county auditor Stacy Henthorn advises prospective candidates to review the filing guide.
