BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Attention aspiring filmmakers.

Cascade PBS is now accepting grant applications for the third round of their Origins filmmaking project.

The winner will get $40,000, a mentorship, and an opportunity to air their project on PBS next year.

Cascade PBS CEO Rob Dunlop says it is an honor to support local artists from the Pacific Northwest and to help share their work.

In the first season of Origins, director Thanh Tan showed their film about Vietnamese immigrants helping Afghan immigrants adjust to life in the Northwest.

And on March 5th, the second Origins project, a story about growing up Black in Seattle called Lost at SEA will premiere at SIFF Uptown.

Applications for Origins can be submitted online by April 17 and applicants must be a member of the community they are documenting.
