BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellnghamNow.com) – Xfinity customers in Whatcom County now have faster Internet.

A spokesperson for Comcast says they are boosting speeds for more than 37,000 customers in the county.

It is part of a nation-wide speed increase rolled out by Comcast for those who subscribe to its “value-focused” plans.

Customers on Xfinity’s “Connect” plan will have their Internet speed up from 75 megabits per second (Mbps) to 150.

Those on its “Connect More” plan will increase their speeds from 200 to 300 Mbps.

Customer paying for its “Fast” plan will have speeds increase from 400 to 500 Mbps.

Those on Xfinity’s “Prepaid” plan will see the biggest boost, from 50 to 200 Mbps.

Both new and existing customers will receive the increases, which went into effect on Thursday morning, March 7.
