CONWAY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Community meetings have been scheduled to discuss a recent Skagit County pipeline leak.

The Unified Command overseeing the cleanup will provide an update on the Olympic Pipeline work site in Conway.

Members of the federal Environmental Protection Agency, state Dept of Ecology, and other local agencies are among those who make up the Unified Command.

A vault within the Olympic Pipeline failed on December 10th near SR 534 in Conway, spilling over 30,000 gallons of gasoline into the ground and nearby creeks.

Crews will be installing temporary barriers to isolate and remove contaminated soil near Hill Ditch.

An in-person open house meeting will be held on February 6 at 5:30 pm in the Conway School Cafeteria.

And a virtual webinar will be hosted on Zoom starting at 6 pm on February 7.
