KITSAP COUNTY, WA – (MyBellinghamNow.com) A Kitsap County judge has refused to rule on an effort to keep Donald Trump off the primary ballot in Washington.

A group of voters in Kitsap County filed a motion on Jan. 10 that challenged Trump’s eligibility.

They cited the 14th Amendment, which prevents anyone from taking office who “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” in light of Trump’s alleged role in the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot.

But The Seattle Times reports the Kitsap Superior Court judge decided Tuesday that the case should be heard in Olympia, where another challenge to the former president is also pending.

A Thurston County court is expected to hold a hearing on the issue this week.

Next month, the U.S. Supreme Court will consider decisions in Colorado and Maine to keep Trump off the ballot in those states.
