SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Emergency repairs are underway on Highway 20 in Skagit County after it was damaged by last month’s flooding.
WSDOT says crews began work on Friday, Jan. 23 to repair a damaged culvert and portion of the highway just north of Marblemount at Bacon Creek. The crews will replace the culvert, rebuild the roadbed, install guardrail and remove hazardous trees.
Highway 20 has been closed in that area except for essential local traffic since mid-December. It’s expected to reopen once the repairs are completed in February.
Farther east, Highway 20 remains closed for the winter between Ross Dam trailhead and Early Winters.
