BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Residents in Skagit County will be able to freely dispose flood debris starting on Friday, Dec. 19.
The Skagit County Recycling and Transfer Station in Mount Vernon will begin accepting household materials damaged by flooding free of charge starting at 8:30 a.m.
The site will accept the damaged materials Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. excluding Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Items accepted at the transfer station include drywall, insulation, flooring and carpeting as well as furniture and appliances.
Select household hazardous waste will only be accepted Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The free disposal of flood damaged items will be available through Jan. 16.
Household flood debris is still being accepted free of charge in Whatcom County daily at Stremler Yard in Sumas and RDS Disposal in Ferndale.
