DEMING, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A late-night burglary at a Whatcom County dispensary led to a multi-county chase.

The Bellingham Police Department says the suspects stole two cars from Bellingham earlier this week.

One of the cars was used to smash into Between the Ferns dispensary in Deming early in the morning on Friday, Jan. 3. The suspects then burglarized the business and fled in the second stolen vehicle.

Law enforcement from four counties pursued the suspects down to Seattle, where they were able to get away.

Between The Ferns said on social media that they will remain closed until further notice.

In another social media post, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office wants cannabis shop owners to be watchful overnight following this “crash-and-grab” robbery and two others at Dank of America and Birch Bay Budz. Dank of America was broken into on Dec. 24 and KIRO7 reports that the suspects made off with more than $5,000 in merchandise.
