BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – August 5 is ballot turn-in day for the August Primary elections.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that, in all, eight offices in the county have three or more candidates running in this year’s primary.

Key races will determine the two contenders for multiple Whatcom County Council seats as well as a spot on the Port of Bellingham’s Board of Commissioners.

Another matter for voters to consider will be levies for the county’s Rural Library District and the South Whatcom Fire Authority.

Some areas in Whatcom County will not have a ballot this primary, as south Bellingham has no issues to vote on.

Ballots need to be either in the mail or dropped in a designated ballot drop box by 8 p.m. on August 5 to count.
