MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A drive-by shooting in Mount Vernon left two people injured on the night of Tuesday, June 18.

The Mount Vernon Police Department say officers were dispatched to the incident in the 500 block of N. 1st Street around 10:20 p.m. Police arrived to find a 23-year-old male and an 18-year-old male suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

The 18-year-old was transported to Harborview Medical Center and the 23-year-old was treated at Skagit Valley Hospital, each person with what is said to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Mount Vernon police are still investigating the incident and believe it was not a random shooting.
