COLUMBIA VALLEY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A burn ban in the eastern Whatcom County has been lifted.

Earlier this week, The Northwest Clean Air Agency (NWCAA) instilled a Stage 2 burn ban for the Columbia Valley urban growth area. The NWCAA has canceled the burn ban on Friday, Dec. 6.

That area included the Peaceful Valley and the Paradise Lakes developments.

A Stage 2 ban prohibits both indoor and outdoor burning unless a wood stove inside is the only source of heat for the building.

NWCAA still urges residents to limit indoor wood burning as much as possible as excess of smoke particles could lead to another ban in the future.
