EVERSON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A local hub for budding farmers is looking for new ownership.

The Cloud Mountain Farm Center and Sustainable Connections recently made the decision to end their joint farm incubator program. People who were interested in farming but lacked resources could use both land and equipment at the program’s Lawrence Rd. property in Everson.

Sustainable Connections stated that due to staffing and financial constraints, Cloud Mountain is refocusing their priorities towards their Farm Center and Nursery on Goodwin Rd.

They’re hoping to sell the Lawrence Rd. property to someone who will continue to use the land to support the local food system.

That could include a similar farming start-up program for low-income, minority and/or underserved farmers. The transition process could take up to 2 years.

Cloud Mountain asks those interested in becoming the land’s new stewards to make an appointment to visit the Lawrence Rd. property.
