BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Ferndale man is in custody after allegedly attempting to kidnap someone at gunpoint.

Bellingham Police spokesperson Megan Peters says the suspect is accused of sending messages to a victim where they threatened to damage their car if they did not meet up with him.

When the two met up in north Bellingham late on Monday night, April 1 the suspect pointed a gun at the victim’s head and tried to force them into a vehicle.

One of the victim’s friends then got into a fight with the suspect and maced him.

The suspect left the area, but the victim’s friends followed him until officers responded to the scene.

An investigation developed probable cause to arrest the suspect, 27-year-old Erick Price, on attempted kidnapping and second-degree assault charges.
