ANACORTES, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Ferry travelers should brace for long wait times or consider changing route plans this Labor Day weekend.
Washington State Ferries warned that an expected 300,000 passengers would take a ferry trip this weekend.
Already Friday, several routes have posted alerts warning of delays on both sailing and boarding.
KOMO reports that Friday, Aug. 30 is also the final arbitration meeting for one of the ferry system’s 16 unions.
Meanwhile, KING 5 reports that Kitsap Transit plans to restart the Seattle-Kingston Fast Ferry route on Saturday, Aug. 31 – five days after an indefinite closure for repairs.
