FAIRHAVEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Another small business in Fairhaven has been a victim of an overnight burglary.

The Firehouse Arts and Events Center says that someone broke into their Harris Avenue business late on Saturday, Feb. 10 or early Sunday, Feb. 11.

While the thieves only managed to steal about $500 and a few baked goods, damage to their doors and windows is estimated at about $9,000.

The owners are urging the public to continue supporting local businesses as the search continues for a suspect or suspects.

“Support your local businesses, we are all experiencing extremely hard blows, senseless ones like this are really tough. We can only absorb so much before it’s just not worth it anymore. Imagine this town without all the great locally owned businesses… it would be pretty sad,” the business said in their announcement on Facebook.

Numerous Fairhaven businesses have reported break-ins over the past few months, including Paws For A Beer and Fairhaven Runners.
