BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Four suspected fentanyl dealers were arrested in Bellingham on Thursday, May 9, following a federal investigation into their trafficking ring.

U.S. Attorney Tessa Gorman says the investigation began with undercover agents posing as customers in late March. The agents eventually set up a fentanyl purchase with four Honduran dealers at a shopping center parking lot in Bellingham.

The alleged conspirators arrived with just over 15 kilograms of fentanyl powder and a gun in their car. A later search of one of the men’s Renton apartment recovered an additional 60,000 fentanyl pills, another kilogram of fentanyl powder and multiple boxes of ammunition.

The conspirators, who were all in their 20’s, were arrested and booked into the Whatcom County Jail. All four appeared in U.S. District Court in Seattle on Friday, May 10.

The case was coordinated between the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security, U.S. Border Patrol, FBI and several other agencies.
