BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Kroger has issued several food recalls following possible listeria contamination and other materials found in the products.

The company said on Thursday their two types of their smoked penne salad and their basil pesto bowtie pasta are being recalled due to listeria contamination.

Those that purchased the ready-to-eat meals on Oct. 2 or earlier are advised to return the item for a refund as consumption could result in severe illness or death.

Another recall Kroger issued for corn dogs and related products expands on a previous recall from late last month. Certain State Fair and Jimmy Dean products including corn dogs and sausage pancake sticks were part of the initial recall on Sept. 28 after pieces of wood were found in the batter.

That recall expanded to Foster Farms Corn Dogs on Monday.

All items were sold in stores throughout the country, including Fred Meyer.
