WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Road repairs and fish passage work may cause slowdowns on your commute this week.
WSDOT said that the right lane of I-5 northbound will be closed near W Smith Road in Ferndale starting at 8 p.m. Monday, July 27.
Crews will be repairing road sensors and should have work wrapped up by 3 a.m. Tuesday, July 28.
Further south, Highway 9 is down to one lane today through Thursday near Kalloch Road north of Sedro-Woolley. The roadway will again be reduced to a single lane next Monday, Aug. 3 for 42 straight days to complete fish passage work.
On a separate section of Highway 9, single lane-alternating traffic is also in effect Monday through Thursday near Mount Vernon Big Lake Road. WSDOT crews will close that stretch of road completely on Aug. 12 for a full seven days as part of a second fish passage project.
