SUMAS, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Paving work could lead to some delays during your weekend travels.
WSDOT said that SR 547 will be reduced to one lane between Hillview Road and Victoria Street east of Sumas starting at 6 a.m. Sunday, June 28.
Crews need dry weather to finish paving that stretch of road, meaning the lane reduction could be moved to Monday, June 29 during those same times if it rains.
But if the weather holds up on Sunday, WSDOT crews will begin work on Highway 9 between Morgan Road and Sumas Avenue. That stretch of road will be ground and repaved from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday with traffic alternating in a single lane.
Further south, ongoing bridge deck inspection work still has Highway 9 down to one lane south of Hopewell Road near Nooksack.
