BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – This weekend is Easter weekend and there is no better way to kick it all off than with some live music.

Why not get in the mood to hide those Easter eggs in the grass with a little bluegrass music? Seattle’s The High Seagrass with their brand of swashbuckling bluegrass are bringing the jams to the Shakedown on Friday night, March 29. After you’ve danced the night away on Friday, it will be time to get down to business on Saturday. It is Easter weekend after all.

Why not start it off with a good old-fashioned treasure hunt? Saturday is the 7th Annual RB Wick’s Bellingham Easter Egg Hunt. All ages are welcome to participate, and it runs all day starting at daybreak. RB Wick from Bellingham Coin Shop, along with a bunch of volunteers, will have wooden Easter eggs hidden in parks and public spaces across the county. And get this: there will be $12,000 in prizes hidden in those eggs. There is a limit of two eggs per person though, so don’t be a Greedy Gus!

After spending the day scouring our county’s parks for wooden Easter eggs, you’ll need a good meal on Sunday. How does Easter brunch sound? The Hotel Bellwether is hosting their annual Easter Buffet. They will have a benedict and omelet bar, small bites like smoked salmon, couscous, and artisan meats and cheeses, along with Belgian waffles, prime rib and spiral ham. It costs $75 per person and runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids under 10 can eat for $35 and kids under 5 eat for free. Or you can hop up the hill to downtown Bellingham for Easter brunch at Penny Farthing at the Chuckanut Bay Distillery. They’ll have similar fare but with frittatas, bacon and marble potatoes. They’ll also have a smoked ham cutting board and a deviled egg selection. Easter Brunch at Penny Farthing runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs $50 for adults. Last, but certainly not least, it’s Easter Weekend at Bellewood Farms running Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They’ll have live music, a candy shop, apple cider donuts and an opportunity for the kids to get a picture with the Easter bunny! There will be fun stuff for the adults to do too. Their café will serve Easter breakfast and lunch and you can taste their Farm Made Spirits while you’re there.
