Get a head start on trick-or-treating in Birch Bay this weekend.
The fifth annual Trick-Or-Treat in the Gym event runs Saturday, Oct. 25 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Due to safety concerns related to high winds in the area, the event has been moved inside to the Blaine Birch Bay Park and Recreation Activity Center located at 7511 Gemini St.

If the rainy weather is too scary for you, we have a couple of fun indoor activities on the docket.
The City of Bellingham is hosting Boo at Bloedel and Sensory Friendly Hour on Saturday. It’s a free event with a $5 suggested donation at the door. The event is at Bloedel Donovan Park from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. For all the details, go to the City’s Facebook page.
The City is also hosting a fun event at the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center. Pumpkin Patch in the Pool is on Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Next up, we have a spectacular event for you in Fairhaven.
The Bellingham Circus Guild presents the Beastly Frightful Spooky Circus of Doom. Their eighth annual Halloween show will feature tricksters, acrobatics, juggling, dancing and all sorts of aerial shenanigans. It is vampire themed but not too scary for kids and adults alike.

Here is a fun event for anyone interested in birds and teamwork.
Leslie Barnard Booth will be a Village Books in Fairhaven on Saturday to present her book I Am We: How Crows Come Together to Survive. If you ever wondered what it’s like to be a crow and how they work together to solve problems, find food and avoid predators, this is the event for you.
I Am We is a free, all-ages, and family-friendly event. It runs from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. To reserve a spot, go to villagebooks.com.
Our featured live show this week is an all-ages event at Blue Room in Bellingham.
Nolan Taylor will be in town on Friday night with his left-handed guitar and folksy songs of American life, heart-wrenching memories and hypnotic melodies. Fans of Oliver Anthony, Tyler Childers and Death Cab for Cutie don’t want to miss this one.
