WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – It’s official. Summer is here in the Pacific Northwest. The weather looks a little spotty this weekend but fear not. We have plenty of outdoor and indoor activities for you in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

The 3rd Annual Juneteenth Festival in Bellingham is Saturday, June 21 at Maritime Heritage Park.

Celebrate freedom with live music, DJs, vendors, games and food trucks. This year, the organizers have added a parade to the festivities. It will be a fun-filled and family-friendly event with face painters and guest speakers.

The 3rd Annual Juneteenth Festival runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is a free event.

What better way to celebrate the arrival of summer than at the Downtime Summer Kickoff in Ferndale?

Head up to Downtime Taps for two days of live music, art, kids’ activities, food and a whole lot more. There will be live music on Friday, June 20 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 8:30 p.m.

Downtime Summer Kickoff is a free event. Go to the Ferndale Arts Commission’s Facebook page for all the details.

This weekend Lynden plays host to yet another family-friendly event.

The Puget Sound Antique Tractor Association’s Spring Tractor and Truck Pulls is this weekend at Berthusen Park. Watch lawnmower pulls, tractor pulls, and truck pulls each day at one of north Whatcom County’s hidden natural and cultural gems.

For the city folk out there, a tractor pull is a competitive motor sport where tractors and trucks pull metal sleds loaded with weight along a course. It’s basically a drag race for farmers.

The action starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday. Tickets for the 2025 Tractor and Truck Pulls can be purchased at psatma.org.

If wet weather puts a damper on your plans this weekend, you can head down to the Mount Baker Theatre for Down the Rabbit Hole.

The Dance Studio presents this take on Alice and Wonderland all weekend long. The show features tots, tweens and teens performing tap, jazz, ballet and contemporary dance along with musical theatre and hip hop.

Down the Rabbit Hole shows at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, then again on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Our featured live show this week is at the Wild Buffalo in downtown Bellingham on Friday.

I Don’t Know How But They Found Me (iDKHOW) features former members of Panic! at the Disco. They’ll bring their brand of retro alt rock to the stage for a night of new wave, glam and indie garage sounds.

The show starts at 9 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at wildbuffalo.net.
