WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Rain will give way to sunshine this weekend and there is plenty to do across Whatcom and Skagit Counties.

The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is off and running and according to their website the flowers are starting to show some color. So, head on down to Skagit Valley this weekend for some fun tiptoeing through the fields.

There are tons of options for colorful fun at Roozengaarde, Garden Rosalyn, Tulip Town, Skagit Acres and Tulip Valley Farms. There is plenty to do including parades, art exhibits, photo contests and a street fair.

Plus, you can swing by Willowbrook Manor for Tea and Tulips every Friday and Saturday in April.

Tulips only come around once a year, but diamonds are forever.

On Friday, April 11, WWU will host the 33rd Annual Drag Show. This year’s theme is Diamonds in the Rough and will celebrate the resilience and resistance of drag.

The show features student drag artists and some professionals from our area. It is an all-ages event but adult themes will be on display so parents should use their best judgement.

The 33rd Annual Drag show starts at 7 p.m. at the WWU Performing Art Center. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

Speaking of drag: Charlie Chaplin. Do you like movies? How about live music?

Combine the two artforms at the Mount Baker Theatre (MBT) on Saturday, April 12 at Charlie Chaplin’s The Circus. The classic film is jam packed with thrills, romance and even some mischievous monkeys.

The music for the film will be performed by Dennis James on MBT’s historic Wurlitzer organ. It is matinee showing at 2 p.m. and tickets start at just $10.75. Go to mountbakertheare.com for all the details.
