SUMAS, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A local coffee shop is rallying to support the family of a Maple Falls child who was tragically killed in a car crash on Halloween.
The family was about to take a left off of South Pass Road in Everson last Thursday evening when they were T-boned by a speeding car heading east.
The impact of the crash killed 11-year-old Yaretzi Davila-Estrada and injured three of her siblings, with one currently in critical condition.
Deputies arrested the speeding driver, who was from Sedro-Woolley, on vehicular homicide and assault charges. He was believed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $1 million bail.
Now, Loca Mocha is offering their support by donating all their drink proceeds and tips to the grieving family this Monday.
The fundraiser takes place from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their shop on 120 Front St. in Sumas.
