BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Lummi Nation woman has been arrested after attempting to escape from police.
Bellingham Police spokesperson Megan Peters said that probable cause had been established to arrest the suspect on several charges, including attempted homicide and arson.
Officers received a tip about the location of the suspect, 44-year-old Chardelle George Rosario, on March 20. They located George Rosario’s car near Zuanich Point Park in Bellingham. She then drove through a closed gate and fled at a high rate of speed.
Officers pursued her and successfully used a PIT maneuver to stop her car before it could get to downtown Bellingham. George Rosario refused to exit the vehicle and was tased before finally being taken into custody.
Details about her charges from the Lummi Nation have not been confirmed.
She now faces additional charges, including eluding police and resisting arrest.
