LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Lynden legend has been honored once again.
The Lynden Tribune reports Harlan Kredit was inducted into the WIAA Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Snoqualmie on May 6.
Kredit graduated from Lynden Christian in 1957 and taught science at the school for over 40 years. He served as the school’s athletic director for 30 years and has coached track for 55 years, a role he continues to fill to this day. Kredit also currently serves on the WIAA’s Executive Board.
In 2022, KGMI reported the National Parks Service honored Kredit for his 50 years of service as a park ranger at Yellowstone National Park.
During his time teaching 8th grade biology and earth sciences at the Lynden school, Kredit took students on field trips to nearby national parks and led the school’s salmon restoration efforts.
Kredit says he’s honored to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and to have served with so many incredible people over the years.
