LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Lynden man was arrested after being spotted with a weapon on school property.
Court documents state that the suspect, identified as a 41-year-old man, walked into Lynden High School on Sept. 23 to pick up his sick child.
Staff members told police that the suspect was acting aggressively and smelled like alcohol. As the suspect prepared to leave campus with his child, staff noticed a pistol in a holster on the suspect’s hip.
Police later determined that the suspect isn’t legally allowed to own a firearm because he is a registered sex offender.
He was arrested last Wednesday and was released a day later on cash bail.
