WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A company with roots in Whatcom County will be transporting this year’s Christmas tree to the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Alaska Marine Lines will hand the cargo from the forests of Alaska off to Lynden Transport before they haul the tree to the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
The festive trip will include stops along the way between Seattle and Washington, D.C.
This isn’t the first time Lynden Transport has delivered this important “haul-i-day” package. In fact, the same driver who made the trip back in 2015 will be behind the wheel once again.
Lynden Transport, which is now an Alaska-based company, was founded in 1906 when Lynden resident Ed Austin started hauling goods around the county.
