BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man is in custody after he allegedly made threats to shoot and kill local police officers.
Bellingham Police spokesperson Megan Peters says the suspect called 911 on the night of Wednesday, Nov. 27, and made the disturbing threats to officers. It came from the same phone number that had made 11 similar calls in the past four days.
Dispatch told officers that the call came from somewhere on Meridian Street near Bellis Fair Parkway.
Officers approached a man in the area who immediately tried to run but was unsuccessful.
The suspect made similar statements to the officers while he was being arrested.
Dispatch also confirmed that his voice matched the caller’s.
