FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man has been detained in connection to a robbery at Silver Reef Casino Resort and other tribal casinos across the state.

The U.S. Justice Department says 32-year-old Edgar Gonzalez Barragan was originally arrested in August before being detained at the Federal Detention Center at Sea-Tac on Thursday, Nov. 20.

Gonzalez Barragan is accused of threatening a cashier with a gun while robbing Silver Reef Casino Resort on Aug. 3.

He’s charged in connection to two more attempted robberies at the Tulalip Quil Ceda Creek Casino and Little Creek Casino in Shelton, all taking place over a nine-day stretch in early August. Investigators also linked him to the theft of a $12,000 “Jaws of Life” tool taken from a Riverside Fire Authority truck on the same day as one of the casino incidents.

Gonzalez Barragan was arrested on Aug. 11, hours after allegedly robbing a bank in Shoreline.
