BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The man who pled guilty to fatally shooting a woman in Bellingham has been sentenced.
Attorney Ryan Swinburnson says that Shilo Englert will spend just over 7 years behind bars for his role in 31-year-old Kasaundra Booker’s death.
Booker was found dead with a gunshot wound to her head in the stairwell of 22 North on Feb. 8, 2022.
22 North, located on N State Street in downtown Bellingham, is a transitional housing facility run by the Opportunity Council.
Video footage captured Englert and Booker together in the hour before she was found.
Englert was arrested two weeks later.
He pled guilty last month to second degree manslaughter and a handful of other felony charges unrelated to Booker’s death.
Following his prison term, Englert will spend a year and a half under Dept of Corrections supervision.
