DIABLO LAKE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Two motorcyclists were injured following a crash on the North Cascades Highway.

Washington State Patrol says the riders were heading west on Highway 20 on the afternoon of Monday, May 27.

Both riders lost control of their bikes near Diablo Lake and crashed into a guardrail on the other side of the road. The force of the crash sent both riders off their bikes and over the rail.

One of the riders, a 36-year-old Arlington man, was transported to Providence Medical Center in Everett. The other rider, a 32-year-old man from Marysville, was treated for injuries at the scene.

WSP believes that excessive speed in wet conditions caused the crash.
