MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Police are investigating the cause of a trailer park fire in Mount Vernon that left one person dead.

Mount Vernon Police Lt. Dave Shackleton says first responders were dispatched to the fire on Mobile Drive at around 7 p.m. on Jan. 9.

Firefighters arrived to find a trailer on fire and, after extinguishing it, found a victim dead inside. The Skagit County Coroner is currently working to determine the cause and manner of death.

Meanwhile, Mount Vernon Police Detectives are working with the Fire Marshal to investigate the cause of the fire.
